DEADLETTER – Fit For Work

‘Fit For Work’ is the new single by South London via Yorkshire band DEADLETTER. It’s a post-punk number attacking the Tory government’s approach to the ‘fit for work’ scheme that in their eyes means if you are breathing you are fit for work. And if you aren’t breathing, well you may still be…

Recounting various disabilities alongside a person’s name and ending with the refrain ‘fit for work’ the band get their point across over the top of a pulsating bassline and jerky drum tap. In between verses we get a chaotic mish mash of music as the guitars and brass jumps in to the mix.

Some people may find the song a little repetetive in format but it’s catchy and more importantly it gets an important message across about how little the government care for the sick and disabled.
