Hayley Mary – The Chain (Nude Version)

Last month Hayley Mary released her latest single ‘The Chain’. It was a song reviewed by Ryan Powell which you can read here. But now Hayley, who also fronts The Jezabels, has released a ‘nude version’ of the song. No, it’s not Hayley singing the song naked, but instead a stripped back version of the track.

Gone is the indie rock sound of the single to be replaced by a gorgeous piano and cello. The result of which allows Hayley’ stunning voice to come to the fore. It’s not often you say a song is better than the original but this version may have just achieved that. It’s helped by the fact ‘The Chain’ is already a beautiful song. Stripping it down as Hayley has really allows the track to touch your heart.
