The Sukis – Bureaucratic Smack

The Sukis

The Sukis new single ‘Bureaucratic Smack’ is a punchy, punky homage to Garage Rock.  With a social media presence that any band would be envious of (which led to them amassing over 2 million streams), The Sukis are ready for success; and hopefully this new single will lead them there.

‘Bureaucratic Smack’ does not slowly crescendo but rather bursts out in a fit of excitement. This is reminiscent of the early 2000’s Garage Rock Revival scene and the intro in particular reminded me of acts such as The Libertines and early Arctic Monkeys. Furthermore, the fuzzy, energetic guitar riffs are very similar to those of the bands from this era and they would not sound out of place next to songs from albums such as ‘Is This It?’ by The Strokes.

This grungey backing track would not be complete without the addition of frontman Tige Burns’ wailing, uncontrollable vocals. As well as the raw lead vocals there are also many moments of beautiful vocal harmonies which define the tracks sound and adds an extra layer on top of the track.

In conclusion, The Sukis have proved once again that they are worthy of your attention. I seriously recommend this group to anybody who is a fan of the early 2000’s indie scene and I hope to see the group do well in the future.
