For Rush fans, November 1 will mark a date to look forward to, as the legendary Canadian rock band will re-release its influential 1989-1996 albums through a special six-LP boxed set. Aptly titled The Albums: 1989-1996, the collection will be available for pre-order through RushBackstage and Rhino.

The box set highlights Rush‘s Atlantic Records era, showcasing the albums Presto (1989), Roll the Bones (1991), Counterparts (1993), and Test for Echo (1996) in one striking package. Each album will feature reimagined cover artwork housed in a slipcase adorned with original work by renowned artist Hugh Syme, who has designed Rush‘s cover art since 1975.

This boxed set serves as a tribute to Rush‘s journey before their 1997 hiatus, capturing their evolution in sound and the loyal following they amassed. One of Canada’s most successful and influential music groups, Rush built a legacy that spanned over four decades. Known for their complex compositions and thought-provoking lyrics, the band captivated millions of fans across the globe, with their live performances becoming legendary due to the combination of instrumental mastery and a deep connection to their audience.

The band, whose Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction came in 2013, has earned RIAA certifications for the third-highest number of consecutive gold and platinum studio albums by a rock band — behind only The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

Rush‘s influence continues to echo despite the unsurmountable loss of Neil Peart in January 2020. Peart‘s quiet three-and-a-half-year battle with brain cancer was known only to close friends and family. The three-day delay before Rush announced his passing added a sense of profound shock, marking the end of an era for rock and progressive music. Peart‘s contributions as Rush‘s drummer and lyricist have immortalized him as one of the greatest drummers and thinkers in music, and his loss has left an irreplaceable void.
