At this point, I don’t even think it’s possible for LÉON to release a bad song. Since arriving with the still-great “Tired Of Talking” in 2015, the Swedish pop star has dropped gem after gem including “Nobody Cares” and “Liar.” That has resulted in four excellent EPs, but still no album. That situation will change next year with the arrival of her self-titled debut. And it’s already shaping up to be one of 2019’s most-anticipated pop albums given the quality of lead single “Baby Don’t Talk” and the just-released “Falling.”
A hugely relatable account of a toxic relationship you just can’t quit, LÉON sets the scene in the opening verse. “Ever since you left me I’ve been dancing on my own, maybe down the line I’ll feel better all alone,” she sings over throwback synths courtesy of Norwegian production duo Electric. The 24-year-old gives into temptation on the catchy chorus. “Now I’m calling you up to see where you are,” the hitmaker muses. “Why is it so easy to break the rules after dark?” Fall in love with LÉON’s latest below.
