BUSHROD – Hide & Seek
Smashing through the UK’s alternative hip hop scene, BUSHROD, the London based rapper, brings his signature wordplay and razor sharp wit to his latest single, ‘Hide & Seek’. The metaphor driven track opens up over synths before diving straight into a very BUSHROD take on English weather.
Produced to perfection and the next in line to previous singles ‘Doing Ok’ and ‘Oxytocin’, this latest offering from BUSHROD delivers with funky basslines and paired back guitar work and of course an endlessly catchy chorus. Written from the perspective of being in a relationship with the sun BUSHROD says “The song is super simple, really: it’s basically about missing the sun. As we know in the UK, we don’t see a lot of it!”
If we weren’t yearning for the summer months enough it would seem ‘Hide & Seek’ has come along at the perfect time and I for one can’t wait to hear it tearing up festivals this year (crosses fingers). It also happens to be the first of BUSHROD’s singles to get him featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist, drawing in an army of new fans in what I anticipate to be a breakout year for the Banbury born artist.
