Fergus Channell – Is This The Place?

Fergus Channell follows up his first release ‘Won’t Stay For Long’ with his latest single ‘Is This The Place?’. The opening guitar and bass riff, reminiscent of Mac Demarco, sets the tone for the honest and powerful vocals. With mentions of ‘lust’ and ‘falling‘ in the first verse building into a chorus which talks of being lost, the listener takes the journey through the joys and heartache of love. The second verse takes an introspective turn, and the self-reflective lyrics provide a sense of self-acceptance, mirroring the chorus.

Throughout, the slow, addictive guitar and bass riffs accompany a seductive drum beat. The listener is treated to a musical interlude which builds into the final chorus, providing a sense of completion.
