L.A. Witch – Motorcycle Boy

L.A. Witch

2020 might have been awful for most. But L.A. Witch had a decent year by comparison, releasing their sophomore album ‘Play With Fire’. Their latest single ‘Motorcycle Boy’ is the next track, and video, off the album.

‘Motorcycle Boy’ is extremely in-keeping with that melodic, nostalgic, super-cool sound the California-based trio have managed to craft.

The girls’ stylish vocals climb above the thumping percussion and rock-styled guitars giving the track a real sepia-toned feel.

Then, like the uber-cool motorbike themed films which inspired it, the single eventually chugs up to the last minute and explodes into a cacophony of electric sounds and driving drums. Reminiscent of late 60’s & early 70’s American psychedelic rock.

L.A. Witch said of the new tune and accompanying video:

“The song is inspired by Moto Boys like Mickey Rourke, Marlon Brando, and Steve McQueen, so of course we took a lot of inspiration from our favourite biker movies like The Wild One, Rumble Fish, On any Sunday, Easy Rider, Hells Angeles ’69 and The Girl on a Motorcycle”

All in all, it’s another super slick single from this virtual throwback band who deliver such incredible sounds, the likes of which enabled us to fall in love with American cinematic culture.
