push baby – Cry / TALK ABOUT IT

The alternative pop duo push baby return with brand new single ‘Cry / TALK ABOUT IT’. The duo hit the music scene with their new group following their break from previous project ‘Rixton’.

The single, lasting 3:30, starts with distorted, almost glitchy, vocals – guided along by a piano line and atmospherical sound effects. The track was created in order to reinforce a feeling of “hysteria” and “pandemonium”, giving the track a darker edge than what can typically be expected from a cleaner, ‘pop-ier’ song. Upon speaking about the track, Jake Roche and Charley Bagnall commented that “its quite a rather simple pop song that if you stripped it back – it could be a top 40 radio pop song”, so its clear the duo have large goals they want to work towards.

The track gains momentum as soon as the pounding drums kick in around three quarters of the way through, creating a sense of adrenaline and atmosphere before quickly backing down into its piano-and-dark-edged roots.
