The Northern Belle – No Rush
The Northern Belle have teamed up with their Norwegian compatriots Siv Jakobsen and Louien on new single ‘No Rush’.
Following on from the shimmering success of their 2020 album ‘We Wither, We Bloom’ The Northern Belle are back with a suitably elegant ode to the struggles we’ve all faced in the past year.
With the crafty fusion of experience and youthful exuberance coming in the forms of Jakobsen and new-face Louien, ‘No Rush’ feels accomplished.
Laden with more than its fair share of sweeping harmonies and elegant piano whirling away over the top of gentle percussion, ‘No Rush’ is a wonderfully peaceful drop of Nordicana. Ethereal lead-singer Stine Andreassen said of the new release:
“The song is about taking care of each other – as well as being patient and letting time take its course. “
Andreassen’s compassionate vocal swirls above the layers of piano, percussion, and harmonious backing vocals to deliver a stunning performance. It’s her rich tone which automatically soothes your mind of any woes.
She said of including more of her countrymen on ‘No Rush’:
“It felt very important to share this song with someone I look up to [Siv Jakobsen] musically, especially after being isolated for so long. To be together about something, and to be able to comfort one another is essential.”
There is a caring element to the song which helps drive that overall message of looking after each other in times of trouble. The Northern Belle have done an incredible job of creating something so pure out what has been a cesspit of a year.
