The Shop Window – Lighthouse

The Shop Window

‘Lighthouse’ is a laid-back tune by Maidstone quartet The Shop Window that’s here to warm you up during these cold winter times. Inspiring images of sunnier climes the song feels like a road journey through warm country lanes on the way to a journey that will end at an ocean.

The 90’s-esque jangly lead guitar brings back memories of bands like The Mock Turtles & Teenage Fanclub. A nice nostalgic feel for those of us (me) who were around back then.

Talking about the inspiration behind ‘Lighthouse’, songwriter Carl Mann had the following to say:

“I sometimes wake up and find myself in a fog, crippled by anxiety and self doubt. ‘Lighthouse’ is about how my wife is always able to steer me through that fog to safety and firmer ground. She has an ability to do this without even realising most of the time, just by being her sparkling self.”
