Amy Lee and Evanescence released their last record, The Bitter Truth, came out in March of 2021; Courtney LaPlante and Spiritbox‘s latest record, Tsunami Sea, came out earlier this year, in March; and Poppy had her latest record, Negative Spaces, release in November of 2024 – each of them charting and each of them garnering critical acclaim. With numerous Grammy nominations and awards between the three of them, it appears, and has been confirmed by two other sources, that three of the most influential vocalists in the metal scene are joining forces for a new single, “End of You.”

Amy Lee took to her Instagram yesterday to post a short black and white snippet which showed Lee, LaPlante, and Poppy dressed regally, charging through dark corridors amidst shots of old-school film cameras and distorted images, before Poppy pushes the viewer away. The clip ends with the text, “End of You,” with Lee‘s voice singing, “‘Cause the end of you is the start of life for me.”

Poppy uploaded her own snippet for the collaboration, containing similar aspects of Lee’s video, but with different frames, focusing mainly on Poppy in the beginning and including more visuals of Lee. LaPlante also posted her own version, with her video being most similar to Poppy‘s, the only difference being LaPlante as the focus in the beginning of her video, compared to Poppy as the focus in the beginning of Poppy‘s video.

With Lee‘s version differing from Poppy and LaPlante‘s social media posts the most, it might be that the upcoming collaboration is an Evanescence track, especially since Poppy tagged the official Evanescence Instagram page in her post, but, it should be noted that Lee has a history of featuring in other artists’ songs and the Evanescence did not post a video of their own. Given LaPlante and Poppy‘s history, it was only a matter of time before the pair joined forces, but the inclusion of Lee in that collaboration is just the cherry on top of the sundae.
