BRUCE DICKINSON Set To Record Another Solo Album & Reissue Overhauled Version Of 1994’s Balls To Picasso

Hey, remember when we had to wait 19 years between Bruce Dickinson‘s 2005 solo album Tyranny Of Souls and 2024 effort The Mandrake Project? Turns out we won’t have to wait that long again. According to Dickinson in a recent Instagram Live session with Z2 Comics, he’s already scoping out the studio where he’ll record the follow-up to The Mandrake Project.
“Well, it’s 12 episodes [in The Mandrake Project Z2 Comics series], so these are four of them. And then there’s another four, and then there’s another four, and then we’re gonna have one giant book at the end,” said Dickinson. “But yes, the answer is yes. And there’s gonna be, of course, a sequel to The Mandrake Project, to the album, with [my solo band] The House Band Of Hell. And funnily enough, I was in a studio today, scoping out the studio where we are going to record the new album. So that’s exciting.”
Speaking of Dickinson‘s solo output, he’s also plotting a massively overhauled version of his 1994 record Balls To Picasso: “Shortly we’ve got a re-release, completely remixed, re-imagined, re-engineered with additional parts, orchestras, string sections, horn sections, Balls To Picasso… And that’s coming out, I think, sort of like midsummer. So that’ll be out at the same time as the tour as well.”
Dickinson recently announced his first extensive North American solo tour in almost 30 years starting on August 22. The tour is in support of his current studio album The Mandrake Project, and will feature his 2024 touring line up featuring Philip Naslund and Chris DeClercq on guitars, Dave Moreno on drums, Mistheria on keyboards and Tanya O’Callaghan on bass.
