Canadian death metal juggernauts Last Retch have dropped their new single “Dissolved In Lye (Down To Rot)”, the second taste of their forthcoming sophomore album Abject Cruelty, out September 26, 2025 via Time To Kill Records.

The relentless, high-speed track dives into the darkest corners of human existence, confronting addiction, mortality, and the destructive desire to dissolve the body in pursuit of transcendence. Lyrically, the song reflects the crushing weight of mental illness, self-mutilation, and the opioid crisis, laying bare the suffering of society’s most vulnerable.

Hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, Last Retch channel the bulldozer stomp of Bolt Thrower and the muscular heaviness of Cannibal Corpse, blending old-school death metal ferocity with pit-ready aggression.
