DARK ANGEL Play New Music For The First Time in 30 Years – Watch Fan Footage Of The Entire Set

Dark Angel hadn’t released music in 34 years until this past June, when they released their first LP, Extinction Level Event.

Naturally, with album releases comes live performances and Dark Angel have kicked off their tour in support of Extinction Level Event‘s release. Starting at Vibes Event Center in San Antonio, Texas this past Friday (12th of September).

Dark Angel formed in 1983 before breaking up for the first time in 1992. They eventually came back together in 1999 for a reunion before returning to a hiatus in 2005 – they only performed once during this reunion. Dark Angel reunited for a second time in 2013 which has lasted this time, despite the loss of the last original member, Jim Durkin in 2023.

The band performed occasionally since their second reunion in 2013, but this year will see the band embarking on a full-blown North American tour for the first time since 1992. The Californian thrash metal band has seen numerous lineup changes, however, drummer Gene Hoglan and guitarist Eric Meyer have remained in the group since the band’s first record.

According to Setlist.fm, Dark Angel performed 13 songs, a mix between their old catalogue, and new material. You can check it out below.
