Ex-COMEBACK KID Bassist MATT KEIL Has Died After A Short Battle With ALS

Matt Keil, former bassist for Canadian melodic hardcore band Comeback Kid, has passed away following a courageous 19-month battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). He was a member of the band from 2008 to 2014, a pivotal era that saw Comeback Kid expanding their reach on a global scale.
Keil is survived by his wife Maddie and their two daughters. Friends, fans, and members of the hardcore community are encouraged to contribute to his family during this difficult time. Comeback Kid released a heartfelt statement reflecting on Keil’s impact on the band and the memories they shared: “It’s with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our longtime friend and previous bass player Matt Keil.
“Matt played in CBK from 2008–2014, a time when we were really starting to tour internationally on a more global scale. He was such an amazing friend and musician. Just the greatest guy to tour with, be around, and explore the new countries in the world with.
“We are sending our love to his wife Maddie and his 2 daughters and want to honour his memory for all years to come. We love you Matt K.”
Maddie also shared a heartbreaking statement on Matt‘s GoFundMe: “It is with a shattered heart that I share that the love of my life and my very best friend passed away yesterday afternoon after a 19 month long battle with ALS.
“We shared a harmonious marriage filled with laughter and joy. He was an amazing parent, my own personal comedian, and the very best partner. I will miss you for the rest of my life. I love you forever.”
