Ex-VITRIOL Vocalist And Bassist ADAM ROETHLISBERGER Joins NILE

Former vocalist and bassist of Vitriol, Adam Roethlisberger, has officially been announced as the new bassist and vocalist of the historically-inspired death metal band, Nile. Recognised within the death metal scene for their technicality and precision alongside their eloquent stories of Egyptian mythology and history, Nile have stood the test of time as they passed their 30-year anniversary in 2023.
The announcement of their newest member came on Friday afternoon when Nile posted the news to social media, alongside a brand new photo of the four piece, stating:
“We’re proud to announce that Adam Roethlisberger has joined Nile on bass and vocals. Fans of his work already know the power and precision he brings, and he’s proven to be the perfect fit for our band.
The energy has never been stronger, we’re playing and sounding tighter than ever! Come witness it for yourself on the current tour. m/”
Roethlisberger played in Vitriol for over a decade, with the band announcing his departure from Vitriol during the band’s autumn tour in 2024. Vitriol took to socials ahead of their set at Full Terror Assault to reveal the sudden absence of their vocalist and bassist:
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the departure of founding member, bassist, and co-vocalist, Adam Roethlisberger. After a very rocky start to the tour, Adam felt it was the time to call it a day. It was the straw upon the camel’s back of a long and difficult working relationship with myself (Kyle). I can be a difficult person to work with. Adam has our love and best wishes in whatever he pursues next.
“Matt and I will continue as a two-piece for the foreseeable future. Thank you to everyone who has shared their support and enthusiasm over these last several shows. To the rest of you, we hope to see you out there.”
Keith Merrow joined Vitriol in March of this year, making Vitriol a three-piece before Vitriol saw yet another lineup change later in August when the three-piece became a two-piece yet again after the drummer Matt Kilner ended up departing the band as Vitriol‘s new bassist Brett Leier ended up steppinp in. You still with me? I’m not – it was confusing then, and it’s confusing now.
With a brand new start on Adam Roethlisberger‘s horizon, all the best to him in his new role. As for Vitriol – in bocca al lupo.
