FINGER ELEVEN Complete First Record In Over 10 Years

Finger Eleven released their seventh album in July of 2015 – now, nearly ten years later exactly, guitarist James Black confirmed that Finger Eleven have finished their next record in an interview with 105.7 The Point this past week.

Signed to Better Noise Music, the band’s newest venture is titled Last Night On Earth, according to Black, but “the release date is not locked in yet.” However, Finger Eleven is hoping that it’ll be before the end of the year because “it’s done.” Black then elaborated that they were currently working on the promo for the upcoming release.

When Finger Eleven put out their first original track since the release of Five Crooked Lines, it was “sort of a test balloon, let’s say,” seemingly alluding to testing the waters to see fans’ reception to the band putting out new music.

“We thought last year we’d put “Adrenaline” out and a couple months later we’d be done with the record. And it took us a whole other year to finish it,” Black explained.

The time between “Adrenaline” and the next single was completely unintentional, but once the band started really digging into the record, not “trying to perfect it, it’s just trying to make every second of it have a buzz to it,” it took longer than expected, and the time between “Adrenaline” and whatever comes next.

However, Black reassured that “it’s good. I feel really good about it.”

So, there is no word as to when there will be new music, and only thing on the Finger Eleven’s agenda so far is an acoustic gig near Calgary. Surely, more to come.
