MAT BRUSO Would Like To Do Some Actual Final Shows With BURY YOUR DEAD

Longtime Bury Your Dead vocalist Mat Bruso surprisingly announced his departure from the band during their set at Furnace Fest 2024. Bruso fronted Bury Your Dead from 2003 to 2007, and then again from 2011 to 2024. Except there might be a third act for Bruso and Bury Your Dead coming soon.

According to a new statement from Bruso, he feels like he unintentionally ended the band by leaving abruptly and now wants to do some farewell shows with them.

“As many of you probably heard, I announced back at Furnace Fest in 2024 that would be my final show with Bury Your Dead or otherwise. I shared my motivations at the time and meant every word I said. However, what I failed to share at the time was that this was the first my band would be hearing of it.

“When I turned around and saw [founding drummer Mark Castillo] waving goodbye to the crowd I realized my leaving meant this very well may be Mark‘s final show as well. I regretted it. Bury Your Dead is not my band. It is Mark‘s band… and [founding guitarist Brendan “Slim” MacDonald]. It wasn’t right of me to close their book for them whether I did it intentionally or not. I would like the opportunity to rectify that. #OneLastTime”
