OCEANS OF SLUMBER Streams Cover Of HEART’s “Alone”
Oceans Of Slumber is now streaming their somewhat-faithful rendition of Heart‘s “Alone”. The first half sticks pretty close to the original composition, while the second half certainly ramps up the chunky heaviness.
On how the cover came to be, Oceans Of Slumber vocalist Cammie Beverly noted: “[Oceans Of Slumber drummer Dobber Beverly] heard me sing ‘Alone’ one night at karaoke and thought it’d be cool for us to cover it.”
“When we got together, we decided to make our version of ‘Alone’ heavier by leaning into Oceans Of Slumber‘s sound”, Beverly continued. “By the time we finished recording, it felt like we’d really transformed the song, giving it new weight and energy while still keeping its heart intact.”
Oceans Of Slumber released their new record Where Gods Fear to Speak earlier this year. Where Gods Fear to Speak was produced and engineered by Joel Hamilton, mixed by Joel Hamilton at Studio G, and given artwork by Giannis Nakos of Remedy Art Design. Get your copy of Where Gods Fear to Speak here.
