From the shadowed vales of Brethil, One of Nine has emerged with their latest hymn, “Dreadful Leap” — a mournful, doom-laden retelling of the tragic tale of Túrin son of Húrin and the bitter fate of Nienor. The track, featuring the spectral presence of Hulder as the Tear Maiden, offers a glimpse into the band’s forthcoming epic, Dawn of the Iron Shadow, set for release on October 31 through Profound Lore Records.

“The page turns, and old sorceries die. Túrin, son of Húrin, has struck dead Glaurung, the dread worm!” wrote One of Nine.

“And in such bitter triumph the doom of his house is revealed as the golden veil upon Nienor’s mind is forever lifted. Thus do we, the Nine, lift our voices in the retelling, to proffer a glimpse upon the Dawn of the Iron Shadow. ‘Dreadful Leap’ is unveiled, and its echo now resounds in every hall.”

The full album, Dawn of the Iron Shadow, promises a sweeping journey of grief, fate, and shadowed grandeur, woven with sorrowful doom and epic storytelling.

Adding to its depth, the cover artwork was crafted by none other than Ted Nasmith, the legendary illustrator of Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, Unfinished Tales, and The Silmarillion. His evocative imagery breathes visual life into the dark legend retold by One of Nine.
