SUFFERING HOUR Returns With New Single “Revelation Of Mortality”, New 10″ Due Out In October

Minnesota black and death metal heavyweights Suffering Hour have reawakened from their long silence with the announcement of a brand-new EP, Impelling Rebirth, due October 3 on limited edition 10″ vinyl and digital formats. Pre-orders and the first single, “Revelation of Mortality”, are available now.

Impelling Rebirth spans five savage, unrelenting tracks across 15 minutes – and this new single is solid proof. All I have to say is welcome back Suffering Hour, and thanks for cranking out utterly savage riffs.

Bassist/vocalist DgS shared the following statement: “I know a lot of people are probably expecting us to be releasing our third full length album now but the reality is, when IsN got sick, we were barely able to even think about the band let alone work on new music. YhA had a full draft of an entire third album written back in early 2022, but time passed and our lives and visions slowly changed.

“Ultimately the album was shelved for the time being and upon IsN‘s recovery and starting back up, we felt like we kind of had to write something from scratch. We wanted to do something that was very spontaneous in its conception and execution while being as unrelenting as possible. The short song format is very different for us and was a very fulfilling experiment, and not necessarily indicative of a future direction.

“Lyrically I pulled a lot from the experiences felt across the last couple of years. Fate, frustrations, the fragility of life, and reawakening. I think this is a special release and shows where we’ve been and where we’re currently at, spiritually and mentally.”
