SYSTEM OF A DOWN Played Some Deep Cuts During Sick New World 2024, Dedicated “Lonely Day” To JOEY JORDISON
System Of A Down played their first show of 2024 at the Sick New World festival over the weekend, and it featured a few songs they haven’t played in a while. You can check out footage of the show above and below, which includes a performance of “Lonely Day” dedicated to the late and great Joey Jordison of Slipknot.
“I once had a friend who was the drummer for Slipknot,” said System Of A Down guitarist and vocalist Daron Malakian prior to the song. “His name was Joey Jordison. I think about Joey all the time. I’d like to dedicate this song to him.”
Jordison would’ve been 49 years old on April 26. System Of A Down‘s set ran as follows:
