TRIPTYKON Announces Dark Shroud Over London Events For This May

When Triptykon, the avant-garde extreme metal outfit led by Thomas Gabriel Fischer— better known to many as Tom Warrior of Celtic Frost, Hellhammer, and Triumph Of Death — hits London this May, they will be honoring a legacy.
Timed with their headlining appearance at the iconic Roundhouse for this year’s Incineration Festival on Saturday, May 3, Triptykon will deliver what they describe as a U.K.-exclusive performance of Celtic Frost material. It’s a gesture, Fischer says, meant to “recognize the present” while paying homage to a past that remains vital to his artistic identity.
“Celtic Frost‘s path would have been a very different — likely far more subdued — one if it hadn’t been for the then largely London-based U.K. music press from the mid-1980s on,” Fischer reflects. “This, along with uncounted crucial musical influences in my youth, was the basis of a life-long bond between the U.K. and all of my musical endeavors. It is thus with utmost pleasure that we in Triptykon will perform a very distinct Celtic Frost-based concert at the iconic Roundhouse.”
The entire weekend in Camden Town is shaping up to be a celebration of Triptykon‘s impact, as well as a deep nod to Fischer‘s expansive and uncompromising career in extreme metal.
On Friday, May 2, Triptykon will reissue their first two albums — Eparistera Daimones (2010) and Melana Chasmata (2014) — on vinyl through Prowling Death Records and Century Media Records. These editions will return in their original gatefold packaging with cover artwork by H.R. Giger, pressed on exclusive colored 180g vinyl. Over a decade later, these records remain benchmarks of genre innovation.
To mark the occasion, a series of events will unfold across Camden:
- Raven Records, London’s go-to haven for heavy metal, will host a public signing session with Triptykon at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3. Fans who preorder the reissued vinyl through Raven will receive an exclusive “Necromaniac Union” enamel badge while supplies last, and can collect their copies for signing that day.
- The Lucifer Lounge at Raven will showcase a pop-up exhibition of Tom G Warrior’s death masks and associated artwork. This rare glimpse into the visual world surrounding his music offers a unique chance to connect with the darker aesthetics that have long fueled his creativity. Entry is free, and exclusive merchandise will be available.
- Over at The Black Heart, festivalgoers can indulge in a special edition of their award-winning vegan menu. In collaboration with Triptykon, the pub will debut a limited new version of their famed vegan wings, accompanied by “Triptykon – Aurorae,” a cold IPA brewed by Saint Monday. The beer is fermented with Swiss lager yeast for a crisp, refreshing edge.
- Inside the Electric Ballroom, fans can pick up an extremely limited piece of history: solid silver pendants of the Celtic Frost heptagram and the Triptykon inverted cross. Only five of each piece exist, hand-cast from original molds created by the H.R. Giger estate. The Cult Never Dies stand will also carry an exclusive Celtic Frost t-shirt design.
If you’ve ever been drawn into the world of Celtic Frost or Triptykon, this isn’t a weekend to miss.
