Watch: YUNGBLUD Paid Tribute To OZZY OSBOURNE Alongside Members Of AEROSMITH & EXTREME At MTV’s Video Music Awards

The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards turned into a yet another beautiful tribute to Ozzy Osbourne on September 7 as some of rock’s biggest names united to pay tribute to the late legend. The ceremony, held at New York’s UBS Arena, featured a star-studded ensemble including YUNGBLUD, Aerosmith‘s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, Extreme guitar hero Nuno Bettencourt, and Adam Wakeman — longtime keyboardist for both Ozzy and Black Sabbath.

The performance ripped through a three-song medley of Osbourne‘s most enduring anthems: the eternal rallying cry “Crazy Train,” the haunting ballad “Changes,” and the bittersweet farewell of “Mama, I’m Coming Home.”

For YUNGBLUD, the tribute carried extra weight. The young rocker had become a protégé of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne in recent years, often hailed as one of the torchbearers of rock’s future. Tyler and Perry, meanwhile, brought their own brand of rock royalty to the stage, their voices and guitars entwined with Bettencourt‘s virtuosity and Wakeman‘s sweeping keys.

I guess none of this was too shocking in terms of how good it was. We’ve seen YUNGBLUD in action – namely his cover of Black Sabbath‘s “Changes” that brought the house down at Back To The Beginning – and everyone else involved has one hell of a history in the genre.

Many of the musicians had stood by Ozzy at his final live appearance — the massive Back To The Beginning event in Birmingham, UK on July 5, 2025. Just two weeks later, Osbourne died from a heart attack on July 22, closing the book on one of heavy music’s most chaotic and influential careers.
