WHITECHAPEL Shares Music Video For “Prisoner 666”

Whitechapel aren’t exactly easing you into their new era. The Knoxville bruisers have now unveiled the video for “Prisoner 666,” a focal cut from Hymns In Dissonance (Metal Blade), and it lands like a gauntlet: concept-driven, riff-obsessed, and primed for the pit.
Vocalist Phil Bozeman frames the song as both a mission statement and a narrative spark: “‘Prisoner 666’ was the first song we wrote and musically feels like the 2014/2021 Whitechapel morphing back into the 2006-2010 Whitechapel and continuing the 2006-2010 era for the rest of the album. This is the beginning of the narrative of ‘the last living son’ of the ‘Father of Lies’ coming to be. Relinquishing his faith, religion, burning the church, and serving Satan, who he believes is his father.”
Guitarist Alex Wade flags the connective tissue to a fan favorite: “It’s got heavy ‘Saw Is The Law’ [from the band’s 2014 Our Endless War full-length] vibes in the opening groove; it’s like we took that song and made it more epic and melodic. The ‘beats per minute’ are pretty similar to ‘Saw….’”
Live, Whitechapel will put the thesis to the test on the Rituals Of Hate U.S. headliner, performing Hymns In Dissonance front-to-back with support from Bodysnatcher, Angelmaker, and Disembodied Tyrant. The tour kicks off on November 12 at The Norva in Norfolk, VA, and wraps up on December 14 at the Mill & Mine in Knoxville, TN. Get your tickets here.
“After the overwhelming responses from the Hymns In Dissonance release, we decided it would be great to close out the year by giving this album to the fans live front to back,” the band said at the time the tour was announced. “The tour will be ending with our 10th annual hometown Christmas benefit show in Knoxville, Tennessee. Do not wait and grab your tickets/VIP now for this special tour!”
