Who Is PRESIDENT – And Where The Hell Did They Come From?

Sleep Token aren’t the only mysterious band on our radar this week. This Thursday (May 15th), a brand new artist – PRESIDENT – made waves with their debut single, “In The Name Of The Father.”

“Something has been stirring. A growing noise, a ripple through the republic of the underground.

We called. You listened.

Your curiosity, your questions, your conversation… We have witnessed it all.

Here, we make our first proclamation.

Cinematic, haunting, creepy, intense – the new PRESIDENT single doesn’t hold back any punches, and neither does the accompanying music video. Void of genre or identity, the new artist thrives only on intent and intuition. The band seemingly came from absolutely nowhere and play with sound and all of its capabilities as if they’ve been doing it all their lives.

As quick as some are to dismiss PRESIDENT as a Sleep Token rip-off, there’s more than enough room for more anonymous bands that play with metal and pop sensibilities. Stardom is brutal – let people have the choice as to whether or not their face is plastered everywhere.

And as such, there have been rumors and theories as to who PRESIDENT is – fans have reportedly connected the PRESIDENT trademarks to a company that Charlie Simpson (Fightstar) owns – but whomever is in the band, it’s clear that they’re starting a revolution. And we can’t wait to see it unfold.
