After quite a public split between The Amity Affliction and their ex-bassist/vocalist, Ahren Stringer, the former band member has alluded to the fact that he’s bringing legal action against his previous bandmates.

Allegedly over band trademarks such as “Amity” and “The Amity Affliction,” Stringer posted screenshots to social media briefly before removing them that stated “Notice of intention” in regards to a trademark lawsuit.

As reported by Blunt, Rolling Stone Australia, and The PRP, the legal dispute is an opposition to vocalist Joel Birch‘s ownership of the band’s trademark.

A messy break-up to say the least, Stringer claimed he was kicked out of the band, The Amity Affliction released a lengthy counter-statement that detailed the band found “it impossible to continue to tolerate certain behaviours” of Stringer’s. The Amity Affliction further elaborated that “the relationship between Ahren and the band has completely broken down while he has been dealing with challenging elements of his personal life.”

There has yet to be any comment from The Amity Affliction or Ahren Stringer regarding the impending lawsuit.
