MEGADETH Is Wrapping Up Recording Their New Album

Megadeth is currently in the studio with producer Chris Rakestraw wrapping up recordings for the follow-up to their 2022 record The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead! Dave Mustaine posted a photo of himself knocking out some vocals, which are traditionally some of the last elements of any album to be recorded. Rakestraw is also an obvious choice for producer, considering he produced both The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead! and Megadeth‘s 2016 record Dystopia.
The new record will be Megadeth‘s first with new guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari who replaced Kiko Loureiro after his departure in 2023, first since Endgame in 2009 to feature bassist James LoMenzo, and the band’s first on Frontiers Label Group imprint label BLKIIBLK. So overall a pretty eventful record.
Megadeth is set to open for Disturbed on their upcoming European tour celebrating 25 years of The Sickness. The tour kicks off on September 28 in Copenhagen, Denmark, and will make stops across Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, and Ireland before wrapping up in Glasgow, Scotland, on October 28.
