ELOY CASAGRANDE Says New SLIPKNOT Is Coming

Slipknot‘s next chapter is inching closer, according to new drummer Eloy Casagrande. In a recent appearance on Drummer’s Review, Casagrande offered a much-needed update on Slipknot‘s progress in the studio. Though the band has yet to release any official new material with Casagrande behind the kit, he confirmed that writing is well underway.
“What I can tell you right now is that we are cooking, we are doing some new music, for sure. Yes, we are,” Casagrande said. “Since I joined the band, we have been working on some new ideas. We keep exchanging guitar riffs, drum beats, so we are always doing something.
“We had also some jam sessions. So we have a lot of material right now. We just have to sit and put everything together, start jamming, and it’s happening. It already happened. It’s gonna happen in the future. So new material is coming, for sure.”
Slipknot previously teased a new song titled “Long May You Die” all the way back in May 2024, shortly after Casagrande joined the band. But as of now, the track remains unreleased. At the time, Slipknot stated that the song was part of a writing session that took place shortly after Casagrande‘s induction into the lineup. It was described as their “first track together,” yet it’s still nowhere to be found. So maybe we’ll get that first?
Meanwhile, guitarist Jim Root has also teased the sonic direction the band might take. In May 2025, Root revealed he had about six “solid” song ideas in the bank and expressed a desire to return to Slipknot‘s earlier, more chaotic roots: “I want to make a raw album that kind of like, you know, I don’t ever want to repeat myself, we don’t as a band ever want to repeat ourselves.
“But I would like to revisit the raw energy of how those first two records were recorded and even into the Volume 3 record…. There’s just something really stripped down and punk rock about it and I think we’ve been missing that on our past few records and I think it’s time to get back to that in some ways.”
So it’s probably safe to assume that new Slipknot is coming in 2026. And maybe Look Outside Your Window as well, though I’m not holding my breath we’ll ever hear that record at this point.
