Karima Francis – Carlessness Causes Fire

Karima Francis is a singer songwriter from Blackpool and this enigmatic mass of curly hair has been on the music scene for around a dozen years. During this time she has released three studio albums and another will hopefully follow soon. Her latest single is ‘Carelessness Causes Fire’ which was released a couple of weeks back.

The song is an honest look at the darker side of the music industry as Karima draws on her personal experiences from over the last decade to construct an honest and thoughtful song with a powerful message of what can happen when the pressure gets too much. For someone who often describes songs as beautifully fragile the press release for this song ironically uses similar wording but i would consider this more wistful and it builds into an accomplished piece of AOR Folk-Rock with Karima’s rich voice to the fore like a smooth chocolate caramel bar.

Karima was highly touted when she first started and may not have achieved the success she deserves but her voice and songwriting have matured richly as she takes her game to new levels.
