Table Scraps – Threads

Table Scraps are back! With promises of a new LP (which is to be released in late September), everyone’s favourite heavy-psych band have excited the Birmingham music scene with the release of their latest single ‘Threads’.
Being an absolute face-melter of a track, ‘Threads’ bursts out in a fit of doomy rage, immediately consuming you into its partially dystopian, post-apocalyptic universe. The unforgettable guitar riff sets the tone for the song and would not sound out of place on a track by fellow brummie rockers Black Sabbath. Multi-layered vocals are added to create a tormenting effect which at times is nothing short of harrowing.
To ensure that not a single note is wasted the band have kept the run time brief at a mere two and a half minutes. With that being said, the track is still well paced and timed to perfection; with a short run time the track does not overstay its welcome.
In summary, this is a single you must hear. The band have already won the support of IDLES and Amyl and the Sniffers and are sure to be successful in the future. I am eagerly anticipating the release of the new album ‘Coffin Face’ and can only hope that it lives up to this high standard.
