Total Rubbish – Someone Else’s Dream

Total Rubbish

‘Someone Else’s Dream’ is one of the new tracks from Philadelphia trio Total Rubbish’s debut EP ‘Triple Negative’, which was released last Friday (November 20th) on Born Losers Records. This song builds upon the grungey, indie-rock sound from October single ‘What’s Your Damage?’ which I also reviewed on this website.

According to the band the song embodies the feeling of waking up in someone’s bed that you kind of wish you never woke up in – but only kind of. The song employs a slower tempo, never rushing itself, and its reverberating, echoing vocals might make you think that she is still in that bed dreaming.

The guitar riff keeps this song going and gives it an energy which reminds me of Wolf Alice’s Mercury Prize winning album ‘Visions Of A Life’. ‘Somone Else’s Dream’ is an excellent track and the whole EP is worth a listen.
