Yungblud Receives Outpouring of Support After Addressing ‘Industry Plant’ Claims
After sharing a vulnerable post addressing the persistent, often hurtful label of being an industry plant, Yungblud has received a significant wave of support from fellow musicians and industry peers. The outpouring of solidarity includes messages from SZA, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, Lauren Jauregui, and actress Alyssa Milano, all rallying behind the artist as he navigates the complexities of modern fame.
The discourse follows a poignant moment during the third annual Bludfest in Czechia, where the English punk rocker addressed a crowd of 20,000. Visibly emotional, he admitted to feeling disconnected from his surroundings, yet found solace in the sea of fans before him, describing the experience as a reminder that he belonged. He later shared a clip of this moment on Instagram, reflecting on the challenges of maintaining authenticity in an era where artists are constantly scrutinized.
In the past 10 years I’ve been on a million different journeys tried a million different sounds trying to figure out who I am or what I can mean to the world everyday whilst the world shouts back. The amount of hate and disbelief around me from strangers on the Internet or bitter musicians really weighs on my heart as all I’ve been trying to do for the past 10 years is spread love, build something I believe in and unify people in a safe space.
Yungblud noted that he felt particularly validated by recent media coverage that challenged the negative online narratives surrounding his career. In the comments section of his post, the industry support was immediate and heartfelt. Scott Ian, co-founder of Anthrax, praised the artist’s dedication, writing, “I stood side stage at BTTB and watched you breathe rarified air the way you elevated Changes. You’ve earned it all Dom. Cheers brother.”
Other high-profile figures also offered words of encouragement. SZA kept her message brief but impactful, commenting, “Rooting for you,” while Lauren Jauregui added, “I feel u.” Alyssa Milano provided a more extensive reflection on the nature of public life, stating, “No one gets out of this life unscathed. I appreciate you allowing us into your heart. I think this vulnerability will make a difference in people’s lives. Rooting and praying for you. Keep swimming and we will be there cheering you on.”
