CHILDREN OF BODOM To Reunite For An ALEXI LAIHO Tribute Show In 2026

Children Of Bodom is the latest metal band to revive themselves for a tribute show, and it’s happening in early 2026.
Children Of Bodom has set February 26, 2026 for their A Celebration Of Music show at the Tavastia-club in Helsinki, Finland featuring bassist Henkka Seppälä, keyboardist Janne Wirman, drummer Jaska Raatikainen, former guitarist Alexander Kuoppala, and Lost Society guitarist and vocalist Samy Elbanna covering the late and great Alexi Laiho.
“We want to celebrate the life’s work of our band and at the same time the musical legacy of our friend and bandmate Alexi,” wrote Children Of Bodom of the show. “The gig will be played at the Tavastia club, which is important to Children Of Bodom, and at the same time, we will fulfill the long-standing wish of our fans.”
I guess we’ll see how this all plays out, because you know how these “one-off reunion” shows go – it’s always one until suddenly you’re seeing the name on festival admats.
Children Of Bodom broke up in 2019 after one final show on December 15, 2019 at the Black Box in Helsinki Ice Hall in Helsinki, Finland. That show was later released as the live album A Chapter Called… Children Of Bodom (Final Show In Helsinki Ice Hall 2019).
Children Of Bodom frontman Alexi Laiho sadly died on December 29, 2020 from what Finnish newspapers reported as fatty liver disease and pancreatic fibrosis.
Children Of Bodom also released a tell-all, career-spanning book this past August featuring a recounting of the band through the eyes of guitarist Alexander Kuoppala, bassist Henkka Seppälä, drummer Jaska Raatikainen, and keyboardist Janne Wirman. Get it here.
