DISTANT Streams Reworked Version Of Their 2019 Album Tyrannotophia
Since their 2014 formation, Distant have carved a name in extreme metal with releases like Tyrannotophia in 2019, Aeons of Oblivion in 2021, and Heritage in 2023, blending dissonant deathcore, brutal death metal, and beatdown into a sound that’s both crushing and distinct. Now, the band revisits a milestone with Tyrannotophia Redux — a fully re-imagined, re-recorded, and re-forged version of their breakthrough album, out today via Unique Leader Records. Get it here.
“This isn’t just a re-master,” Distant explained. “We re-recorded all the vocals from scratch, reworked some guest spots, and gave the whole album a brand new mix and master by Simone Pietroforte. It’s the same lore, same brutality — just bigger, heavier, and more refined.
“‘Tyrannotophia’ was a turning point for us when it first dropped, and we wanted to give it the treatment it deserves with the sound we’ve built over the years since. Same lore, same brutality — but bigger, heavier, and more refined.”
The Redux includes new and returning guest vocalists:
