PELICAN Announces First Album In Six Years, “Cascading Crescent”

Pelican has announced their long-awaited new record Flickering Resonance, due out May 16 via Run For Cover. Flickering Resonance is also Pelican‘s first since since 2009’s What We All Come To Need to feature founding guitarist Laurent Schroeder-Lebecre.
Pelican is now streaming “Cascading Crescent” below alongside a limited edition 7″ single featuring a vocal version (exclusive to the vinyl) fronted by emo icon Geoff Rickly of Thursday on the b-side. Get that here alongside Flickering Resonance pre-orders.
“When Laurent left and we were able to carry it through, there became a real sense of gratitude for the fact we still have this artistic outlet and a community of people who want to support it,” said Pelican guitarist Trevor Shelley de Brauw.
Pelican and Russian Circles will also hit the road next month for an all-instrumental slaying of the United States. The tour kicks off on March 3 at Delmar in St. Louis, MO and wraps up on March 22 at the Fine Line in Minneapolis, MN. Tickets are available here.
