On Friday, July 25, the X-Ray Arcade in Cudahy, WI (just south of Milwaukee) hosted a powerhouse lineup of Midwest metal, featuring Yotuma, Frontal Assault, Goregatron, and Casket Robbery. From start to finish, the night delivered an unrelenting dose of groove, thrash, and death metal energy – each band bringing something distinct and ferocious to the stage.
Opening the evening was Yotuma, a Madison-based quartet who wasted no time drawing the crowd in with their groove-heavy death metal riffs. Their tight musicianship and undeniable stage presence set the tone for what was to come.
Next up was Frontal Assault from Cedar Rapids, IA. True to their name, their set was a full-force thrash onslaught. Every song felt like a punch to the gut—in the best way. Their high-speed performance kept the energy alive and proved they’re a band to watch in the Midwest metal scene.
The momentum only intensified with Goregatron, death metal veterans hailing from Fargo, ND. Their set elevated the room’s energy to another level entirely. Every member was locked in and technically sharp, unleashing a performance that was both punishing and exhilarating. Their chemistry on stage was palpable, and their passion radiated through entire set. If you weren’t having a blast during this set, it’s your own damn fault.
Closing out the night was Casket Robbery, also from Madison, WI—and they did not disappoint. Frontwoman, Megan Orvold-Scheider, commanded the stage, channeling raw intensity through her fierce, theatrical vocal performance. Backed by a band firing on all cylinders, Casket Robbery brought the perfect combination of groove, precision, and intensity. They’re the total package—tight, dynamic, and deeply engaging. When Casket Robbery plays your town, it’s simple: You go to the show!
