Tyra Creates Music Where Light Meets Dark
Tyra found her voice only after everything familiar fell apart.
There were no big studios nearby, no buzzing scenes shaping her early years. Instead, her story begins quietly in Diessenhofen, Switzerland, where music existed in ordinary moments: family gatherings, childhood voice lessons, and a feeling that singing was simply part of who she was.
For a long time, though, that love stayed in the background. Life felt practical, safe, predictable. Then everything changed.
In a short span of time, Tyra was forced to confront two life-changing realities: her father’s paralysis after a bike accident and her own cancer diagnosis. Those moments shattered the illusion that there would always be time. Suddenly, the question became unavoidable: follow the dream now, or carry the weight of never trying.
Tyra officially began her journey as a recording artist and songwriter in December 2024. Since then, her work has been shaped by honesty. Her sound lives in contrast: dark pop meets mainstream pop, shadow and light coexisting in the same space. As she puts it, “It’s like the sun meets the moon or pink meets black.”
Tyra blends electronic textures with warmth. Synths and drum machines create atmosphere, while pianos, guitars, and real drums ground her songs in emotion. The interplay of softness and strength in her vocals is central to her sound. “This is the core of my music – the contrast between dark and light elements, both lyrically and musically.”
Her latest single, “Don’t Be Shy,” captures that balance perfectly. Following “Thank You For Leaving” and “Light Me Up,” the track marks a new level of confidence. The song addresses emotional distance openly, calling out manipulation without softening the message. “‘Don’t Be Shy’ is a darkly honest and assertive song about calling out someone who’s emotionally unavailable and playing games in relationships,” Tyra explains.
Produced by Dominik Rivinius, the song feels both catchy and confrontational. Their collaboration, which began after connecting online in late 2024, quickly became something deeper. Tyra recalls crying tears of happiness after their first session, realizing she felt alive again.
What sets Tyra apart isn’t just her sound. It’s also her emotional courage. She creates music as a safe space built on truth, resilience, and the belief that vulnerability can be powerful. In every sense, her story isn’t about darkness alone. It’s about choosing light, even when life tries to take it away.
