Justin Bieber Reclaims Top Spot on Spotify Following Coachella Surge

Justin Bieber’s recent return to the stage has translated into significant digital dominance. Following his high-profile headlining sets at Coachella, the pop superstar has officially secured the title of the artist with the most monthly listeners on Spotify globally.

According to data shared with Rolling Stone, Bieber reached an all-time peak in monthly listeners on May 3, amassing over 140.3 million. This represents a 42 percent increase over a 24-day period that encompassed the lead-up to his highly anticipated festival appearance. As of May 5, that figure has climbed even further, surpassing 141 million monthly listeners.

A Steady Climb to Streaming Supremacy

The trajectory toward this milestone was consistent throughout the festival season. On April 9, just prior to the first weekend of Coachella, Bieber held approximately 98.8 million monthly listeners. By the start of the second weekend, that number had risen to 110.9 million, and within three days, it reached 118.9 million. On April 20, immediately following his festival run, Bieber recorded his biggest streaming day ever on Spotify, exceeding 105 million streams in a single day.

Catalog Revitalization

While the Coachella sets provided a massive boost to his overall catalog, several legacy tracks saw particularly dramatic surges. Most notably, the 2012 collaboration between Bieber and Nicki Minaj, “Beauty and a Beat,” experienced a total revitalization, earning 75.5 million global streams between April 10 and April 20.

Other fan favorites also saw substantial gains during the same period. “Baby” garnered 40 million streams, “Eenie Meenie” picked up 32.7 million, and “Never Say Never” added 22.1 million. More recent hits also benefited from the momentum, with “Daisies” collecting 41 million streams, “Sorry” garnering 36.2 million, and “Love Yourself” amassing 33.7 million.

Bieber’s Coachella performances—which featured guest appearances from Billie Eilish, SZA, Kid Laroi, and Dijon—marked his first major public performance since the conclusion of his Justice tour in 2022. Following a period of health-related hiatus, the artist’s return to the spotlight has clearly resonated with his global fanbase, cementing his status as a streaming powerhouse.
