Charli XCX Unveils ‘Playboy Bunny’ as Exclusive B-Side to ‘SS26’

Charli XCX has shared yet another glimpse into the world of her upcoming album with a new B-side track, “Playboy Bunny.” The cheeky, pop-punk track is designed to complement her latest single, “SS26.”

“The B-sides are sort of coupled with some of the songs that are coming out ahead of the album,” the pop star explained in an Instagram video on her dedicated “b.sides” account. “The reason that they’re paired together, these two songs, are because, in ways, they’re totally opposite from each other, and that is kind of the main point of them. It’s sort of a mirror… there are specifically sonic things about it that are extremely opposite to ‘SS26’ and I think that’s what made it a good B-side, a good pair.”

As Charli noted, the video was filmed the day after the “SS26” video, and she admitted she was “honestly v hungover lol.”

Because it is a B-side, “Playboy Bunny” will not be hitting major streaming platforms. Instead, it remains available exclusively on her Instagram account and via a limited-edition 7-inch vinyl release. “The B-sides are never gonna go on streaming,” Charli confirmed. “Whilst making the record, I made a few songs that felt like a part of the world of the album, but I kind of knew they weren’t ever going to be on the album, and so they became the sort of B-sides.”

Earlier this month, Charli shared her divisive lead single “Rock Music” and, just a day later, the singer unveiled its B-side, “I Keep on Thinking Bout You Every Single Day and Night,” on the same supplemental Instagram account.
