Foresteater – I Do I Don’t
Foresteater, the project of Mikey Pro, has released his first single in three years with the catchy ‘I Do I Don’t’. It’s a track that saw Mikey play all parts of the song on the recording with the exception of the drums (Bob Hoag).
‘I Do I Don’t’ is a bouncy song but despite the positivity portayed in the melody the song is a bit of a “fuck you” to those people who take delight in putting you down or being negative about your ideas. The chorus in particular is very addictive and is likely to get stuck in your head after a couple of listens. The drum pattern is exquisite and Mikey’s high vocals suit the track perfectly.
Talking about the song Mikey had the following to say:
“The song is mostly about unsolicited advice or people talking shit and me being too sensitive about it. The chorus explains the struggle of putting something out into the world and trying your hardest not to care too much what people think but not being able to stop yourself from caring a little no matter how hard you try. It’s about being volatile. Writing about things that I am frustrated about is sometimes the easiest way get over them.”
