Headshrinkers – Doorway Conversation

Headshrinkers

Headshrinkers are back with a bang for their first release of 2022 – the outstanding new single, ‘Doorway Conversation’. From start to finish, the bouncing bass lines and melodically foreboding guitars cut their groove into the airwaves, making way for the track to truly shine. The sinister punk poetry of Garran Hickman once again proves that Headshrinkers are destined to become more than just a band. Branching out into a new, “eerie, anthemic” the musical charge comes from the trio of James, Xavier and Scarlett who appear to have some sort of “written in the stars” approach to performing as every little note they drop appears to be nothing short of post-punk magic. With the single, Headshrinkers also announce their debut EP of the same name which will be arriving later this year.

Packed with lyrics concerning the rediscovery of what’s joyful in life, Garran reflects on the poetry of his past and attempts to establish how we’re all tied in an interlocking system, where the past pinpoints the future and the struggle of getting to a destination, without knowing where you want to arrive. James Knott crafts an incendic masterpiece once again, innovating on the eerie post punk, incorporating an abundance of more rhythmic and melodic elements. It is impossible to even whisper the name ‘Headshrinkers’ without paying respects to the formidable rhythm section of Xavier Al-Naquib and Scarlett Churchill, the dynamic duo form the strongest of rhythmic foundations for the track to be built upon. Allowing the foreboding element of the guitars and the vocals to truly shine. You would be hard pressed to find a better, tighter rhythm section in the UK.

Headshrinkers continue to develop their own brand of eerie post punk and have once again proven that the future holds big things for them. Do not miss out on this band, for the future will beg… £=”Where were you when Headshrinkers made their mark on the world?”.

‘Doorway Conversation’ is released January 28th 2022 and marks the dawning of a new era for Headshrinkers.
