Jet City Sports Club – Bloodhounds
‘Bloodhounds’ is the debut single by Sydney-based band Jet City Sports Club. With another single set to follow as well as an EP already recorded 2021 looks set to be a busy one for the quartet.
As someone who listens to a lot of Australian music ‘Bloodhounds’ had that noticeable Aussie feel from the off. I was instantly reminded of a mix of Courtney Barnett, Dumb Punts, when Seattle takes to the vocals, and acts like Sputnik Sweetheart & Body Type as well as New Zealand’s Fazerdaze. So what does all that mean? It means ‘Bloodhounds’ is a great debut release that has got me automatically wanting that next single & EP to be released!
The four-piece state in the press release that ‘Bloodhounds’ was written whilst they were listening to a lot of Julia Jacklin, DMAs and 80s/90s British guitar music. It’s a catchy, upbeat and hopeful track that will quickly worm it’s way in to your ears. The lead guitar hook is snazzy and singer Lilla’s vocals go perfectly with the music. On the strength of this track it looks like Jet City Sports Club are set to enter my long list of great Aussie acts.
‘September Sun’ EP is set for release early this year.
