Midlight – Pandemonium

‘Pandemonium’ is the sophomore single release from Brixton-based band Midlight.

Following on from the success of debut single ‘Sink to the Level’, which recieved airplay from Tom Robinson as part of the BBC Radio 6Music Introducing Mixtape, ‘Pandemonium’ is a slow paced track that has a classical guitar hook dancing away alongside the beats that give the song a latin vibe. This is not an upbeat song though. The eerie, ethereal sounds that add atmosphere to the track also bring a blanket of melancholy, whilst the vocals sound sad and forlorn. The shimmering closure of the song delivers a foreboding industrial sound.

It’s a combination that sounds like it shouldn’t work but it actually makes for a very enjoyable listen. If you are looking for a song to add to your chilled playlist then give this one a go.
