At just 1 minute 41 seconds, Birmingham based artist Molly’s new song is a pocket rocket of a track. Using multiple layers of vocals to contrast minimalistic instrumentation, it’s a daring and potentially risky move for her to make, what with its heavy reliance on her voice.

Thankfully, she sounds excellent, and the opening line made me think of Amy Winehouse. ‘Bad’ is about reflecting on the experiences in life which bring out the worst in you. Taking her inspiration from across the musical spectrum, she’s currently trying to ‘listen to every musical genre under the sun’, which is sure to influence her future releases.

Molly is an extremely talented producer, writer and performer, and if this song is anything to go by she is going to have a very good music career.
