Violet – Fade

‘Fade’ is the brand new track from Midlands quintet VIOLET, and first since their debut EP ‘Feels Like Heaven’ was released in November 2019. Already a fan favourite from performances at live shows, this brilliant release reminds me a lot of the heyday of Britpop – especially the catchy hook “Fade in/Fade Out” and the multiple layers of guitar.

My head was bopping to this one instantly. The track grabs you from the first second and keeps its momentum going for over four minutes. Lyrically, the track talks about the coming of age from teenage youth and entering the real world, but all I can think about is how amazing this would sound at a gig right now given how long it’s been since they were taken away from us. ‘Fade’ has the confidence and self-assurance of a band who knows what they’re doing – and knows that they know. I truly love this song – and it’s available to stream or buy on all music services now.
