Country-pop star Kacey Musgraves has officially canceled three performances from her highly anticipated Middle of Nowhere Tour, including the originally scheduled opening night in Chicago. The sudden change to the itinerary has left ticket holders seeking answers, as the cancellations were announced without a specific explanation.
Fans who had secured tickets for the August 20 show in Chicago, the August 29 concert in Boston, and the September 2 date in Brooklyn received notifications over the weekend confirming that their respective shows would not proceed. According to reports, all affected ticket holders are being issued full refunds.
The cancellations specifically impact secondary dates that were added to the tour schedule due to high demand. The original performances at Chicago’s United Center on August 21 and Boston’s TD Garden on August 28 remain on the calendar, with the August 21 date now serving as the official opening night for the tour. Similarly, while the Brooklyn show at the Barclays Center has been removed, Musgraves’ two-night stand at New York’s Madison Square Garden on August 31 and September 1 remains unchanged.
Other multi-night stops on the tour, including those in Nashville, Austin, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Seattle, are unaffected by these adjustments. While speculation regarding the cause of the cancellations has circulated among fans—with some pointing to potential ticket sales trends—Musgraves has not issued an official statement regarding the decision. The artist is currently on a scheduled break in Greece.
The North American leg of the Middle of Nowhere Tour, which supports her latest studio album, is slated to conclude on October 27 in Seattle. Following the conclusion of these dates, Musgraves is expected to begin a brief Australian tour in January 2027, followed by a European run the following month.
